Community Programs

Programs for children, adults and community groups

Bow Valley Victim Services offers regular training to BVVSA volunteers and interested community members. Topics covered include Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Domestic Abuse, Sexual Assault and Sudden Death. All sessions are free to attend, but pre-registration is required.

 

The BVVSA also offers a wide range of educational presentations to schools, community organizations and businesses. Examples of these training programs include:

  • Presentations on Healthy Relationships and Domestic Abuse to Year 10 CALM students
  • Presentations to Year 10 students from the Bow Valley on suicide intervention and prevention
  • Participation in the Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth (PARTY) program for Grade 9 students in the Bow Valley
  • Conducting presentations on suicide intervention and crisis intervention as part of the Bow Valley’s Community Helpers program
  • Trauma presentation to First Responders and interested community groups

 

Since 1994, over 26,000 people have attended BVVS educational programs. Training programs can be customized to meet the needs of your group.
